Frankfort is a village in Will County, with a small piece in Cook, known for its walkable historic downtown and a housing stock that runs larger and higher-priced than a lot of its neighbors. The old downtown around Breidert Green and the Grove has real character, with shops, restaurants, and a regular farmers market, and much of the growth around it has been larger single-family homes and estate-style lots.
For buyers, Frankfort tends to be a move-up market. Prices here sit toward the top of the area's range, the lots are often generous, and the town leans into its downtown and trail system as the center of things. The Old Plank Road Trail runs through, which is a genuine draw for anyone who wants to bike or walk. There's no Metra station in the village itself, so commuters usually drive to the Rock Island District stops in Mokena or New Lenox.
