Naperville is one of the largest and most prominent suburbs in the Chicago area, straddling DuPage and Will counties out to the west. It's big, and the housing reflects that. You'll find everything from downtown condos and townhomes to established single-family neighborhoods and large newer subdivisions on the edges, across a wide span of price points. The downtown along the DuPage River, with its Riverwalk, is a genuine center of the town in a way a lot of suburbs don't have.
For buyers, the scale is the story. There's usually a lot on the market here, in a lot of shapes and prices, which means the right home for a first-time buyer and the right home for a move-up buyer can both be in Naperville. Two Metra stations on the BNSF line, one of the busiest commuter lines in the region, make a downtown-Chicago commute genuinely practical. Naperville also spans two school districts, which is one of the first things buyers moving here ask about.
